Oops. We now have 3 cats. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🐅🐅🐈

Step 1: Go for a bike ride... 🚲 ° ° Step 2: See a stray kitten run across a highway🐈 ° ° Step 3: spend an hour trying to get it out from a car engine (!!)😩 ° ° Step 4: go home with it and wonder if you've committed high treason with current cats... 🐅🐅😠. It's currently in quarantine in our bathroom and most likely going to the animal shelter tomorrow but... it's just so cute! 😻

Two website updates in 4 days, it's a if I wasn't otherwise working 60 hour weeks in my real life!🤪 ° ° ° #batavierenrace review, and how 9 oldies can come 5th against 325 teams of 25 students! (though, after 12 hours, we were 7 seconds slower than in 2018! 🤦‍♂️) #GoImpalas 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️° ° ° Despite the lack of sleep, one destroyed ankle and having to wear a bin made of the thickest stickiest material in the history of humankind, it was probably one of most fun races I've done. #throwbackthursday 9 years ago, first marathon in... 5h09! Almost halved it since (🤙), but it still remains one of my biggest running achievements (as I genuinely wondered if I'd survive it, in a literal sense). And now that I'm currently crooked for a month from stupidly running 200+km in a week, I'm looking forward to my wobbly belly creeping back... 🤰🤕 Ah well, live and learn!

Batavieren relay race (175km). 9 old ringers vs 8,000 students and 325 teams : 5th place in the end 💪👵👴 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉🎊though it probably says more about the level of intoxication of Dutch students than our ability... ° ° no sleep since Friday morning and...I've felt worse. Not sure 3 legs x 7km was best recovery for achilles heel but 🤷‍♂️ ° ° amazing event overall, the finish is out of this world with thousands of (drunk) students cheering you on👏👏

Bratislava ➡️ Budapest 235km 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️ DONE ☑️☑️ ° Days 5 & 6 (Esztergom ➡️ Leanyfalu 38km, Leanyfalu ➡️ Budapest 27km) ☑️☑️ ° Few reflections! : ° considering this is twice the weekly mileage record I've ever run, my body coped surprisingly well (though achilles heel may need some rest... 🤕) ° anyway, I'm sure this will turn out to be excellent training for summer track season... 😂 ° overall though, newfound respect for people who do 100milers in one go (why?!) or even longer ultras. 🤯 Again, WHY?! ° on plus side, considering I ran about 200km on a sore achilles heel, it's incredible how the mind can override the body when you set yourself a challenge and refuse to give up. Well done brain! 👾 (that's a brain 🤷‍♂️) ° on a practical note, the online definition of the cycle "route" we were following may have been a little generous... Fluctuated between highway, off-road and normal cycle paths...🤔 ° and finally, this would have been impossible without my water carrier and donkey extraordinaire @messepip 😍 - doing this or any #ultramarathon without any company would be horrible! ° ° ° photos : 1 in Budapest! 2 arriving 3 offroading 4 random missiles lying around 5 along the Danube 6 offroading 7 beautiful Esztergom

#Bratipest Days 3 and 4 Gyor ➡️ Komarno (41km), Komarno ➡️ Esztergom (58 (!) km). Hardest out of the way thank god! Legs ☠️ but it's giving me a chance to master my Forrest Gump shuffling... ° photo 1: a well earned rest 🙃 ° 2: the ridiculous basilica in Esztergom over the Danube⛪ ° 3: the despair you feel after 47km at the sight of a DO NOT ENTER sign on your path leading to a 2km detour 😖 ° 4 and 5: along the Danube 🏞️ ° 6: finding an amazing lunch spot along Danube🥪🥧 ° 7: necessary evil🤪 ° 8 and 10: along the way🏝️ ° 9: the border crossing! 👨‍✈️👩‍✈️

Days 1 and 2 #bratipest ✔️ ° Everything reasonably holding up for now. Bratislava ➡️ Halaszi ➡️ Gyor ° Let's see if the body can last another 150km... Next stop back in Slovakia to Komarno. Also, #wheresmyfuckinghairgone 😭

My lasting memory of the Paris marathon... 😂🚽 ° Lesson learnt... Don't go to Egypt a few days before a marathon! 🇪🇬💩 Went through all nine months of pregnancy in as many kilometres 🤰... ° Not the best day all in all but hey, tis only running and I made it to the end!
